Frequently Asked Questions

We offer elective 3D/4D & HD live prenatal ultrasounds to provide a positive bonding experience for the mother, father and family members with their unborn baby. Image N You Ultrasound Studio offers elective, non-diagnostic ultrasound. The ultrasound is NOT performed to assess the baby for abnormalities. A routine ultrasound examination should have already been performed by your doctor to assess the gestational age of the fetus and to evaluate for fetal anomalies as well as the basic components of fetal anatomy recommended for screening.

ABSOLUTELY NOT! Women seeking an elective prenatal ultrasound with Image N You Ultrasound Studio should already be receiving prenatal care with a healthcare provider. Expectant mothers should only rely on a medical diagnostic ultrasound ordered by their provider to confirm their due date, screen for fetal anomalies, and to look for any other pregnancy related issues. Please note, elective prenatal exams are not to be used in place of a complete diagnostic ultrasound.

Weeks 7-13: We provide early views of your baby and you will be able to see your baby as a whole and see the heartbeat. Weeks 13-20: We will be able to obtain full body pictures and determine the gender of your baby (best after 16 weeks). This is a great time to see your baby kick and turn. Weeks 21-30: You will be able to see a well-defined baby’s face, yawning and waving. Weeks 31-37: Your baby shows a full face and chubby cheeks.

Yes, we book “by appointment only”. Same day appointments available.

Ultrasound has been performed and studied for over 30 years, no evidence has shown any harm to baby or mother. The American Institute of Ultrasound in Medicine (AIUM) officially states “No confirmed biological effects on patients or instrument operators caused by exposure at intensities typical of present diagnostic ultrasound equipment have ever been reported.” To ensure the safety and comfort of both mom and baby, Image N You Ultrasound Studio abides by FDA guidelines regarding the recommended time limits for ultrasounds and scanning duration.

Yes. In fact, we encourage our clients to invite family and friends to attend their elective 3D/4D ultrasound session. This is a joyous and wonderful experience, one that can be shared with your family and loved ones. We can accommodate up to 10 guests comfortably.

We have a “See your baby Guarantee”. If your baby is hiding, we will schedule you to come back another day free of charge.

Be hydrated! The more water you drink the more amniotic fluid surrounds the baby and the better images you will get. The fluid acts as a lens to see the baby. Drink extra water for a few days before your appointment. Also, if you have to drive a long way to our studio, plan on arriving 15 minutes early, eat something sweet, and take a walk around the mall to wake baby up.

We now accept MEDICARE for our Diagnostic ultrasounds with a signed doctor's order. At this point, insurance does not cover the costs of our Screening ultrasounds or Pregnancy Packages. Since this is an elective procedure you will need to pay the cost of this ultrasound as an out-of-pocket expense. We accept HSA/FSA, Cash, Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Zelle and Apple Pay.

In most cases you will. Sometimes if the baby’s position is face down, i.e. towards your spine, it may be difficult to see the baby’s face. In this case, a complimentary rescan will be scheduled. However, the scan images may not be similar to those you saw elsewhere or even from our studio. Every baby scans differently, depending on the gestational age, position, amount of fluid, placental location and mother’s body habitus. However, we promise to make every effort to obtain the best images.

A screening ultrasound is a preventative and proactive measure taken to help people understand their risk for developing chronic conditions before symptoms are present.
